Cookies

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site remember certain information: your cart, your country, your choices. Your browser’s local storage works the same way; this page covers it too.

2. Who places them

The website betenoir.com is published by ROCNE SAS, 20 quai de la Mégisserie, 75001 Paris, France, and runs on Shopify. The cookies listed here are placed by Shopify on our behalf. At payment, the provider you choose (card, Apple Pay, PayPal, Klarna…) may place its own cookies, needed to keep the payment secure; its own policy applies.

3. Necessary cookies

They make the shop work: cart, order, payment, security, country and language. The law exempts them from your consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act); they therefore cannot be refused on the site.

  • _shopify_essential: session, order and shop security. 1 year.
  • cart: what is in your cart. 2 weeks.
  • cart_currency: the cart’s currency. 2 weeks.
  • localization: your country. 1 year.
  • discount_code: a discount code received through a link, kept until payment. For the visit.
  • _shopify_test: checks that your browser accepts cookies. 1 minute.
  • __Host-Http-shop_binding: signing in with Shop, if you use it. 3 hours.

The site also keeps in your browser that you have already seen the opening animation and that you have closed the announcement bar, so as not to show them again. This information stays on your device.

4. Audience measurement

Only with your consent.

  • _shopify_analytics: number of visits, pages viewed, the path to an order, to improve the site. 1 year.

5. Marketing

Only with your consent.

  • _shopify_marketing: where you came from (a campaign, a link) and what it led to. 1 year.

If we add another measurement or advertising tool, it will be listed here and placed only with your consent.

6. Your choice

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or choose category by category; refusing is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time with the “Manage cookies” button at the top of this page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; without the necessary cookies, the cart and checkout no longer work.

7. Your data

To learn what we do with your data and how to exercise your rights, read our privacy policy. Any question: contact@betenoir.com. You may also contact the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
